Ashley Bauman is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in DC, where she works with individuals, couples, premarital couples, and adolescents. She received her Master’s of Arts in Professional Counseling from Richmont Graduate University in Atlanta. Additionally, Ashley is currently a Doctoral student at Regent University working on her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision.
Ashley believes that our emotional health and our spiritual health are deeply tied together. She views counseling as an important part of our discipleship journey and spiritual formation. Through a strong therapeutic bond and a safe environment, people are able to explore their needs and set goals. Ashley works from a trauma-informed perspective and believes that life’s greatest challenges are opportunities for our deepest growth and transformation.
Ashley’s experience includes: depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, life transitions, singleness, boundaries, identity development, family of origin concerns, anger, communication skills, women’s issues, conflict resolution, addiction and codependency, marital and personal relationship struggles, and spiritual concerns.
She pulls from several models when seeing clients, but the ones she uses the most are: interpersonal, attachment theory, cognitive behavioral theory, psychodynamic, gestalt, and narrative therapy.
Ashley has been married for over five years and lives in DC. They moved here three years ago as part of a church plant team. She loves living life in the busy city and being part of what God is doing in this city and through his people.
