Cynthia D. Adeniyi, Ph.D., LCPC, NCC

Life is a journey. Sometimes the road is clear and straight. Sometimes it is full of twists and bends. Our journeys take us through valleys and over mountains. Even though God is with us, sometimes the journey can feel very lonely. It has been said that a counselor comes along side for a portion of the journey and helps the traveler see God's navigation plan for the twists and turns.

For Cyndy Adeniyi, the journey led into the counseling field when she obtained a master's degree in Counseling Ministry from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. The next stop in the journey was Philadelphia where she began working with families and gained experience working with attachment issues, ADHD, trauma, sexual abuse, depression, anxiety, and stress management.

The journey next led Cyndy to Southern Maryland where she gained increased experienced in the areas of defiant youth, addictions, and career development.

Licensure in Maryland as a professional counselor followed, but that did not end her educational journey. Cyndy recently completed her doctoral dissertation at Amridge University. She researched the methods by which survivors of child sexual abuse overcome struggles and develop a positive, vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ.

In addition to her work with Life Christian Counseling Network, Cyndy provides substance abuse counseling for a local county Health Department.

On the weekends you can find Cyndy worshiping at the local church in Camp Springs, outdoors enjoying creation, or scouring the local mall for a good deal.
