 Pastor
Lisa Connors, BSW, LSWA, MDiv, MA is a graduate of the
University of North Carolina at Greensboro, Howard University,
and Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in
Social Work degree, Master of Divinity degree, and Master
of Arts in Professional Counseling degree, respectively.
Lisa holds a Licensed Social Worker Associate license
with the State of MD. With 20 years of experience working
with families, couples, groups, women, children, and
adolescents. Lisa is an Associate Pastor at her local
Maryland church serving as the Administrator to the
Senior Pastor and overseeing the Board of Christian
Education Ministry. Lisa also serves with her husband
in International Ministry by ministering to and serving
others in Spanish speaking countries.
Lisa Connors is a HIV Prevention Counselor
with many years of experience in the HIV/AIDS arena.
She is an advocate and activist for those infected and
affected by HIV/AIDS. Other experiences include serving
on a State Board for HIV Prevention, being a Certified
Parent Educator & Trainer, an Adjunct Faculty Member
at Anne Arundel Community College, and a Rachel’s
Vineyard Site Leader for those affected by Post-Abortion.
Lisa also works with and serves others who have experienced
and are experiencing issues that affect and are related
to families, couples, women, children, adolescents,
such as [but not limited to] parenting issues, grief,
trauma, self-esteem, identity issues, the father wound,
sexual intimacy, rejection/abandonment, unhealthy relationships,
sexual violence, domestic violence, HIV/AIDS, and Post-Abortion.
Lisa has endured various struggles,
trials and tribulations, but God has chosen her to be
a vessel of honor for his will, purpose, and for his
glory. She is truly honored that God has called her
to restore, edify, and change the hearts of “hurting”
people to live an abundant and “whole” life
in Christ Jesus. According to Romans 8:30 (NIV) “And
those he predestined, he also called; those he called,
he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.”
Currently, Lisa is pursuing licensure
as an LCPC, along with pursing her PhD in Psychology
at Walden University, and certifications as an Addictions
Counselor & Christian Life Coach. She is a member
of the American Association of Christian Counselors
(AACC), National Association of Social Workers (NASW),
and American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors,
and Therapists (AASECT).
Lisa and husband have been married
for 12 years, and they are the proud parents of four
wonderful children. She loves spending time with her
family, writing poetry, reading, and baking. She is
assured that nothing is or will ever be possible without
the love of Christ Jesus…for it is in Him that
she moves, lives and has her being. Her motto is “God
has blessed her to be a blessing to others.”
