Lisa has experience working with individuals, families, couples, and groups affected by violence, abuse, addictions, and other traumatic life experiences. Some other areas of specialties are, but not limited to, depression, self-esteem, the father wound, sexual intimacy, rejection/abandonment, forgiveness, co-dependency, unhealthy relationships, sexual and domestic violence, risky sexual behaviors, abstinence, and post-abortion. Lisa also has 20 years of experience serving those infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Lisa’s desire is to serve individuals who have experienced and are experiencing issues that affect their ability to live whole, completely, and abundantly in Christ Jesus.
Pastor Lisa is married to her “soul-mate” and serves with him in international ministry by ministering to and serving others in Spanish speaking countries. They are the proud parents and grandparents of four adult children and one grandson. Pastor Lisa loves spending time with her family, writing poetry, reading, and baking. She does not take for granted the gifts and talents God has instilled in her. Pastor Lisa certainly deems it an honor to be a ‘vessel of honor’ used by her Heavenly Father. She is assured that nothing is or will ever be possible without the love of Christ Jesus…for it is in Him that she moves, lives and has her being. Her motto is “God has blessed her to be a blessing to others.”
Pastor Lisa Connors is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), and Licensed Bachelor Social Worker (LBSW) in Maryland. She has a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro; Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degree from Howard University; and Master of Arts (MA) in Professional Counseling degree from Liberty University. Lisa is a National Certified Counselor. At present, she is a Doctoral Candidate pursuing her PhD in Psychology.
Lisa is a member of the American Counseling Association, National Association of Social Workers, and the Association for Addiction Professionals (NAADAC). She is the Co-chair of the HIV Planning Group (HPG) for the State of Maryland, serves on the Board of Directors and is the Suburban Maryland Branch Representative for the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) ~ Maryland Chapter, serves on the Board of Directors for the Maryland Counseling Association (MCA) and is the President of the Maryland Association for Spiritual, Ethical, and Religious Values in Counseling (MASERVIC).
