Stefanie Peterson, CHRISTIAN COUNSELOR

STEFANIE PETERSON, MA, LGPC, NCC

Stefanie Peterson is a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor in Maryland who is passionate about creating a safe and supportive space where individuals and couples can be fully authentic and work toward greater emotional and relational health.

Stefanie works with individuals and couples navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, grief, and seasons of change. Her approach is insight-oriented, supportive, and collaborative, with a focus on helping clients better understand themselves, increase self-awareness, and develop practical skills for growth. Clients often describe her as thoughtful, non-judgmental, and encouraging.

Stefanie uses evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and skills-based work, to help clients understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and to build healthier ways of coping and communicating.

As a Christian counselor, Stefanie takes the lead from the client regarding how faith is integrated into counseling. When desired, she incorporates biblical truth and believes in the transforming work of the Holy Spirit. She often offers to close sessions in prayer when appropriate and welcomed.

Stefanie is a former military officer and a military spouse, giving her a unique understanding of the challenges faced by military individuals and couples. She considers it a privilege to walk alongside clients as they pursue healing, clarity, and wholeness.

Stefanie received her Master’s degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling through Regent University. She has a Master’s in Public Administration from Troy University and received her Bachelor of Science at the U.S. Air Force Academy. Stefanie previously served 17 years active duty in the Air Force as an Intelligence Officer. Since transitioning out of military service, she now works as an Operations Manager for Amazon.
