Grief

If grief is supposed to be healthy, why does it hurt so much?

Ecclesiastes 3 says that “there is a time for mourning,” but that doesn’t mean the process is easily navigated. Grief and the experience of loss are things that we will all go through at various times in our lives.

David talks extensively in the Psalms about grief, loss, mourning, and sadness. (See Psalm 6 or Psalm 18 for examples.) Jesus even models mourning and sadness for us, too, as we see him weep over the city of Jerusalem and over the loss of his friend, Lazarus.

Mourning and grief have their place, but moving through these stages to a place of healing can be a difficult process. If you have experienced loss of a job, loss of a friend or family member, or even the loss of hope or dream, let our counselors walk alongside you through the process.
