How did we get here?

All relationships have their ups and downs, but maybe you can’t remember the last “up” that you had.

Relationships come in all forms: spouse, child/parent, significant other, friend, and family. These relationships often bring us life and joy, but can also be the source of much frustration, anger, and pain.

Ephesians 4:32 (ESV) says, “be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.” But getting to a place of peace and forgiveness can be a difficult journey and walking that road can take guidance and time.

Ecclesiastes 3 teaches us that, “a time to break down, and a time to build up . . . a time to weep, and a time to laugh . . . a time to mourn, and a time to dance . . . a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing . . . a time to seek, and a time to lose . . . a time to keep, and a time to cast away . . .  a time to tear, and a time to sew . . . a time to keep silence, and a time to speak . . . a time to love, and a time to hate . . . [and] a time for war, and a time for peace.”

Finding the balance in the midst of each of these is a challenge. Whether you are struggling with a significant other, a family member, or a friend, our counselors can help you gain perspective and find a path forward.
