Karen Hubbard

Karen H. Hubbard, Ed.d., LCPC, Resident in Counseling-VA, NCC

Karen Hubbard is a Master’s level counselor with a passion for helping women who are seeking healing from domestic violence, sexual abuse, and post-abortion stress symptoms. She also has experience counseling individuals and women who face unplanned pregnancies.

As Karen considered the calling that God has given her to counsel others, she is reminded of the promises God has given in Isaiah 61:1-3: The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.

Karen grew up in a Christian family and was blessed to have a strong foundation in Bible training through her church, high school, and college education. Karen’s father died when she was four years old, but she was blessed to have an extended family that helped her family through the grief of his loss. She has been married for 32 years and has three adult sons. While her children were growing up, Karen managed her own cleaning service to give her a flexible work-family balance before transitioning into her counseling career.
