Linda Kline-Lau, M.A. (Intern)

Linda Kline-Lau has a passion for working with hurting people and a desire to help them resolve their core issues so that they can become all that God designed them to be. Her goal is to help people uncover the true sources of “the chains that bind them” and the pain each person carries so that they can be healed, break free and live according to God’s good plan for them. She strongly believes that true healing can only come through the power and intervention of our Lord, Jesus Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit.

In her personal faith-journey and her own quest to overcome depression and self-esteem issues, Linda has gained valuable life experience in many areas. These areas include experiencing the death of a parent, loss through suicide, eating disorders, anger management, relationship issues, divorce, marital counseling, and numerous lessons on life in a blended family. Linda believes that the adversities of life and her ever-deepening relationship with God are all part of His plan to prepare her to carry out His work by helping others.

Linda recently completed her Practicum at Capitol Hill Pregnancy Center where she counseled with impoverished young women who came for free pregnancy testing as well as those who came to receive free material resources to assist them in caring for their infants and toddlers. Linda is still involved in ministering at the Center. Linda was also trained as a Stephen Minister at her church where she worked for 7 years with women facing crises in their personal or marital life. As a certified Highlands Associate, Linda administers the Highlands Ability Battery as a part of career counseling with high school and college-aged young men and women.

Linda received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Frostburg State University and is in her final year of obtaining a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Regent University. Linda also has a Master’s degree in Information Science and Systems from Bowie State University and has been working as a Business Analyst for a systems engineering and development team.

Linda and her husband, Will, have been married for 16 years and have a 14 year-old son. Linda also has a 24 year-old daughter from her first marriage who currently works as a Technical Writer. Linda’s life-scripture is Isaiah 61: 1

1 The Spirit of the Sovereign LORD is upon me,
for the LORD has anointed me
to bring good news to the poor.
He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted
and to proclaim that captives will be released
  and prisoners will be freed.
